STUDY: Natural Immunity As Effective Or Better Than Two COVID Jabs

Natural immunity acquired from a COVID-19 infection provides just as much protection against severe disease and death than two doses of mRNA vaccines, if not more so, according to one study recently published in The Lancet.

According to a new study by The Lancet medical journal released on Thursday, researchers found that natural immunity “cut the risk of hospitalization and death from a Covid reinfection by 88% for at least 10 months,” NBC News reported.

“This is really good news, in the sense that protection against severe disease and death after infection is really quite sustained at 10 months,” said Dr. Christopher Murray, the director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington and senior author of the study.

Despite his findings, Murray believes that vaccination is still more preferable than a natural COVID infection because “you might be one of those people that end up in the hospital or die.”

“Why would you take the risk when you can get immunity through vaccination quite safely?” he said.

NBC News reports that The Lancet study was the largest “meta-analysis to date to look at immunity following infection.”

The research included 65 studies from 19 different nations, comparing the risk of COVID reinfections to individuals who had not been infected with the virus through the month of September.

“The protection against severe infection, both the extent and the length of it at almost a year, is really surprisingly high,” said Dr. Bob Wachter, chairman of the department of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.

In the end, the researchers found that immunity from natural infection is “at least as high, if not higher” than immunity acquired from two doses of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

“What Europe did with this evidence made a lot of sense, which is where evidence of past infection was seen as essentially equal to vaccination in terms of requirements to go into events or for employment,” Murray said, adding that proof of natural immunity should be considered equal to proof of vaccination.

Microsoft co-founder and billionaire vaccine proponent Bill Gates recently changed his tune on the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines during a conversation with Australia’s Lowy Institute, Valiant News reported.

Gates claimed that the COVID-19 shots do not prevent individuals from being infected by the virus, adding that whatever protection they provide appears to rapidly wane. The pro-vaccine billionaire additionally noted that the shots are unable to protect people from variants of the COVID-19 virus.

“We also need to fix the three problems of [mRNA] vaccines,” Gates stated. “The current vaccines are not infection blocking.”

He continued, “They’re not broad, so when new variants come up you lose protection, and they have very short duration, particularly in the people who matter, which are old people.”
