Died Suddenly: Former Jaguars Offensive Lineman Uche Nwaneri Dead at 38

On Friday, former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Uchechukwu Nwaneri collapsed and died at his wife’s home in Indiana.

The 38-year-old had just driven to Indiana from Georgia, and was found unresponsive by his wife around 1 a.m.

According to West Lafayette police and Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello, there were no signs of foul play in his death. Investigators believe he suffered from a heart attack, although they are still waiting for the toxicology report to come back.

The Jaguars tweeted upon hearing about his death, “We are saddened to learn of the passing of Uche Nwaneri.”

Unfortunately, Nwaneri is not the first healthy person to die too young from a heat attack as of lately. The issue has been happening more and more… However, just because it is happening more often does not make it normal.

Nearly 2,000 healthy athletes have suffered cardiac arrest since covid began and a little over 1,000 have them have died. Healthy, young people do not just have heart attacks, life threatening blood clots, or just die in their sleep. That is not normal and should not be normalized.

This is a serious issue that needs to be investigated.

On Monday, Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin suddenly collapsed on the field and went into cardiac arrest.

The 24-year-old required CPR for 9 minutes as he was not breathing. He was then taken off the field on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital at about 9:25 p.m.

Fox Sports reporter Joe Danneman tweeted at the time that “Hamlin has a pulse but is not breathing on his own. He is being transported to UC.

He added that the player “needed AED and CPR on the field.”

It’s not just athletes either. People across the country are suddenly dying from heart attacks.

Just over a week ago, ABC News producer Dax Tejera died suddenly from a heart attack at the young age of 37-years-old.

On Christmas Eve, ABC News president Kim Godwin sent a memo to network staff announcing Tejera’s untimely death, and ABC News anchor Rachel Scott also confirmed his death on World News Tonight.

Have you tried googling or searching on Twitter for the phrase “died suddenly”? If not, I challenge you to do so. The results are astounding and should be raising the eyebrows of people all over the world; especially in the science field.
